What do students do on the weekends?
-
Both boarding and day students are welcome to participate in weekend activities, which are planned by the faculty members (four faculty members are on duty (OD) each weekend) and the students themselves. Trips to New York City and Philadelphia, as well as to Great Adventure, take place during the year. The New Hope area is also full of many recreational opportunities; bicycling and hiking on the canal path and canoeing and tubing on the Delaware River are popular. Students often go into town or nearby malls to shop and to see movies. Boarding students who have parental permission may visit day students' homes on the weekends.

Are Athletics required?
-
All students are required to participate in a supervised afternoon team sport or activity each trimester. Team sports meet 5 days a week from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and involve additional time for practice and games. Other activities meet only 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Students select activities from a list of choices during registration for classes each trimester. Participation in a physical activity is required during at least two of the three trimesters. While there is a wide offering of team sports from which to choose, we recognize that our students have a variety of interests and thus do not require students to do interscholastic athletics.
